Camden + Olivia: St George Bridals
This was one bridal session for the books! To say that capturing Olivia and Camden in beautiful Snow Canyon was an adventure would be an understatement. The whole day was filled with amazing memories, and chilly bones. But it you ask me, the freezing temperatures were totally worth it! We woke up early and drove all the way from Utah County to St. George to catch the beautiful red rocks of Snow Canyon. When we arrived in St. George, we were quickly deceived with warm, sunny weather. As we headed into the canyon, the wind started to blow and the temperature dropped significantly. It was easily the coldest shoot of my life! But these two were absolutely amazing! They pushed through and were determined to have their bridal memories captured in this beautiful place. It was a dream come true for a photographer! Thanks so much to Camden and Olivia for being so awesome to shoot with and for making all my red rock dreams come true!
Shortly after Camden and Olivia were married, I got to chat with Olivia. She answered some questions about her and Camden. They are the cutest! Here is what she had to say:
How did you and Camden meet?
We met at the mall right after his family moved into my family’s church congregation and our moms made us talk to each other. He was more interested in me than I him, and I was dating someone else. It took me some warming up but we fell in love the next month after going out for a few weeks. I had to ask him to kiss me because I pretended to fall asleep the last time he had the chance to and he thought he didn’t have a shot.
Tell us your proposal story!
He proposed a couple months later, and planned to propose where my dad proposed to my mom. Turns out the canyon was closed, but Cam proposed at a beautiful overlook in Pleasant Grove. Some of our favorite people were there. It was amazing and we were so happy.
What is your favorite thing about your husband?
My husband has so many amazing qualities, but I think his best quality is how forgiving he is. He is the least judgmental and most accepting person I know, and changed me for the better when I was in a tough spot in life.
Tell us about the location you chose for your formal/bridal photos?
I chose Saint George because I’m a desert girl from Arizona, and the snow is not my jam. I did not want white wedding pictures, I wanted fun desert bushes and color, and I love the variation of the colored rock in Snow Canyon. It was so dreamy!!
Where did you find your wedding dress?
I found my wedding dress at a cute little boutique, Petals and Promises in Logan, Utah where I found my prom dress just a few years before. One of my best friends also found her dress there as well. It was the first dress I took off the hook and I instantly knew it was the one I dreamed of!
What is the best marriage advice you have received so far?
The best marriage advice we’ve received is to always pray together . My husband made a point on our wedding night when we were exhausted that we needed to pray, and we do every night. We always name something we love and appreciate about the other person. It makes our prayers more sincere, and loving, and centered in our love and involving God in our relationship more. We always thank Him for bringing us together. I’d give this same advice to any newlyweds or future brides and grooms — always remember and express what you love about each other and are grateful for between one another.
